19-year-old private Billy Lynn and his company survive a harrowing military battle that's captured by news cameras. Brought home for a promotional tour, that culminates at the halftime show of a Thanksgiving Day football game - he is facing an imminent return to the war. Told through flashbacks, Billy begins to express disenchantment with the treatment of supposed war heroes from citizens who have seen nothing of war.
