Along with fellow Wellingtonian outfit Fat Freddy's Drop, TrinityRoots are one of this country's most distinctive and unique sounding bands, effortlessly blending their own deep spirituality with evocative rhythms and harmonies steeped in a lineage of soul, reggae, roots and NZ rock.
Recorded over the last six months in their own recording studio in Wellington, with engineering assistance from the very able Lee Prebble (Black Seeds, The Phoenix Foundation, Flash Harry), 'Home, Land And Sea' is the second full-length album from TrinityRoots, featuring material which has been a staple of their live shows throughout the last year or so - during which time the band established themselves as one of NZ's premiere live acts.
Highlights are numerous - the deep percussive spiritual journey that is "Longs I For You", the skanking boogie of "The Dream" (featuring the delightful Holly Smith on guest vocals), the stonking live favourite "Egos", the delicious slow-mo funk of "Touches Me", the jazz inspired rhythmic workout of "Way I Feel", and the touching and heartfelt title track - making this an album that completely lives up to the band's considerable local reputation.
