N'Dour combines his native Senegalese traditions with Egyptian and Arabic sounds in this musical exploration of Islamic Sufism.
The UK's Daily Telegraph said that it was ''The world music event of the year. It is hard to imagine anything bettering the magisterial voice of N'Dour at the peak of his powers. N'Dour's show was an inspiring beacon of light."
N'Dour, who sought to explore the links between his homeland's religious beliefs and that of Muslims in Egypt and the Middle East, says that Egypt is an album that praises the tolerance of the religion.
