Written over thirteen days and recorded in the downtime of the minor league ball park tour he was on with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson in 2009, the album was recorded using vintage equipment in a pre-revolutionary Baptist Church in Memphis, a hotel room in San Antonio where Robert Johnson had recorded in 1936, and a shed in the vacant lot next to the legendary Sun studios. And as rough and ready as that sounds, 'No Better Than This' is something quite special."
