Village of the Idiots is a nine-piece ensemble from Wellington, specialising in all things experimental and avante garde, continually pushing the boundaries and unapologetically exploring new territory.

The band was formed by drummer and percussionist Anthony Donaldson (previously of the Six Volts) and features a stellar cast including Jo Lindsay and Toby Laing (Fat Freddys Drop), Dean Hunter (Flower Orphans) and Chris Palmer (The Elephant Man).

The debut release, 'School of Hard Knocks' is a superb summation of what the Village of the Idiots famous live sound is all about. Challenging and genre defining this release comes off the back of a very busy summer touring schedule culminating in their performance at WOMAD '08.
