Majaz

'Majâz' (the Arabic translation of the word "metaphor") is Le Trio Joubran's second album. Consisting of 11 original tracks the Trio's intention with the new repertoire is to carry its audience from one emotion to another.

The Trio originate from Palestine and have risen impressively over the last five years with their unique blend of heart-wrenching improvisations for oud and percussion.

The group was nominated for the 2004 Django d'Or awards, and selected at the Womex 2004 and the Strictly Mundial 2005 Festival Awards. The trio have played before thousands at the Festival of Nyon, were welcomed at Carnegie Hall in February 2006, and recently played at the Jerusalem festival (August 2007).

The Joubran Tro are well known for their live performances which are both precise and overflowing with emotions; a mixture of painful ecstasy and sumptuous silence. The 'Majâz' album reveals the maturity of a trio who offer an invitation to travel to the heart of Palestine.
