New Zealand country singer / songwriter, Neil Hersey writes from the heart about life, in its basic form of true meaning, to place a seed, not to overstate.
Born and raised in Northland from English / Canadian parents, Neil's Dad bought him his first horse when he was 6 years old, and he spent his early days riding the hills of a little farm called Sleepy Hollow just out ofWhangarei.
About 30 years later Neil got involved with the wild horses of the far north, a very moving experience for him, for that was where he wrote his first song Aupouri Angel. Watching the wild ones and living with them brought the Cowboy out in him in a big way.
From his first song, Neil's love for writing and music was born and to his amazement people started to enjoy it. His music embellishes the call of the wild and of life itself. He writes from the heart about life, in its basic form of true meaning, to place a seed, not to overstate.
Neil now works as an entertainer throughout NZ from concerts, Rodeos, to up market clubs and bars. His music for him is a way of life and expression, in one of the strongest mediums we have today.
