Don't miss this delightful collection of colourful and tuneful complete orchestral music by the American west coast composer Elinor Remick Warren. Warren, whose life spanned the twentieth century, lived from 1900 to 1991 and was known as a leading accompanist as well as a composer. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra conducted by Ronald Corp revel in this colourful music.

It includes two programmatic orchestral suites evocative of the West and the High Sierras, the Ravellian Symphony in One Movement, the tone poem The Crystal Lake and two deliciously tuneful encores - Scherzo and The Fountain - which must be among the most English-sounding orchestral music ever written by an American composer. Roderick Williams sings the aria King Arthur's Farewell (accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra cond. Martin Yates) with touching commitment and feeling.
