The debut album from 24-year-old Latin jazz pianist Harold Nussa-Lopez features singer Omara Portuondo and trumpeter Mayquel Gonzalez of Buena Vista Social Club.
'Herencia' is the debut album from 24-year-old Latin jazz pianist Harold Nussa-Lopez. 'Herencia' means "heritage" & this stylish World Village debut - which wanders carefree from the sultry clubs of Havana to the bright lights of New York City - draws on the young musician's roots in Cuba & France.
Harold's formidable technique earned him the Laureate prize of the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in 2005. His classical training shines throughout Herencia, while his love of Cuban music is also at the forefront.
Harold is best-known as part of Omara Portuondo's band and indeed, the lead female singer of Buena Vista Social Club appears on this album, as does trumpeter Mayquel Gonzalez.
