George Melachrino was one of light music's most eminent names on both sides of the Atlantic , and during the 1940s, '50s and '60s he made many recordings that are nowadays rightly thought of as classics of the genre. This Vocalion release presents his sumptuous 1959 album RENDEZVOUS IN ROME, as well as a compilation of BALLET AND OPERETTA recorded in 1956.
