In the history of popular music, no other male vocal group has come close to matching the incredible success and popularity of the Mills Brothers.Originally comprising four brothers from Piqua, Ohio, the group notched up an incredible 71 major US chart hits (five of which topped the national listings) over a period spanning five decades, with total record sales well in excess of 50 million copies.During this astounding period, the group recorded in a range of styles, from Barbershop and Pop to Jazz and Rock & Roll, so inspiring and influencing countless acts that were to follow, with their impact upon the 'Doo Wop' sound of the fifties particularly evident. 'Swing It!' traces the Mills Brothers' output, from their earliest singles through to the last of their recordings for Decca Records in the late 1950s, with each of the three CDs focusing on a specific decade.
