To celebrate their 30th Anniversary, The Furys present this re-release compilation of their best known numbers. The 'Anthology' CD from premiere Auckland r&b/rock band 'The Furys' features 21 live and studio tracks including their 'Varsity Radio' summer hit single of '81, "Auckland Fun". Also many more live favourites, such as, "Cadillac", "Shake Some Action", "Stupidity" and "Friday on my Mind".
'Anthology' includes a sixteen page booklet, telling the 20 year history of the band…. from the assembled crew of spring '79, to the recording sessions of '98 & '99.
The Furys were an appropriately named band that whipped up a storm everywhere they played in the '80s including as support act for The Troggs and Dr Feelgood.
Members of the Furys, at different stages of their rocky career were:
Dave McLean ("Auckland's king of rhythm and booze") - Vocals / Guitars Simon Elton - Bass / Vocals Rob Galley - Guitars Steve Butler - Drums Robbie Peters - Drums Mike Cooney - Guitar Steve Hubbard - Guitars Dave Curtis - Keyboards Ian Gordon - Saxophones Marcus Shanley - Saxophone
THE FURYS - Never perfect, but the better for it!
