This 8-piece group who are musically inspired by living around the beautiful Whangaroa Harbour have been performing on the NZ music scene for two years.
Patu Colbert who formed the 1814 band, describes the music as a mix of funky RnB reggae. The band have had the opportunity of gigging with Katchafire, Cornerstone Roots, House of Shem, 3 Houses Down and Che Fu to name a few.
'Jah Rydem' is the band's debut album and was recorded at York Street Studios Auckland, and produced by Billy Kristian in the Far North and features 11 original tracks.
