No 6 in Hyperion's Schumann series, a strongly Spanish programme, brings more distinguished music-making from no less than four singers and two pianists (Graham Johnson is joined by his old friend Stephen Hough, no less, in the Op 138 Spanish lovesongs). There are many soprano/alto, soprano/tenor and tenor/bass duets, and three tracks where all four singers come together.
Much of this music is comparatively, and unjustifiably, unknown, as is the little cycle of songs 'aus Jucunde' by Clara Schumann, also included in the programme sung by Geraldine McGreevy.
