'All Old Testament life is here … how useful to be able to hold such a big chunk of English culture in a box five inches square' (The Times)

'Scott and his choir explore the essential musical core of Anglican worship, soaring high above the ordinary and fully exploiting the reverberant acoustics of Wren's cathedral' (Music Week)

'Will surely remain unique for many decades' (Gramophone)

When it was first published in 1875, The Cathedral Psalter, edited by Sir John Stainer and others, provided the standard to which others aspired, both in publication and performance. Now, over a century later, the tradition continues and history is repeating itself. St Paul's Cathedral has published an entirely new version of its famous Psalter, with the familiar words of The Book of Common Prayer freshly pointed by John Scott, the Cathedral's Director of Music, and a wide selection of chants is brought up to date with the addition of many new ones set alongside well-known favourites.
This set presents the complete Psalter in sonic form on twelve compact discs. The enclosed booklet contains the texts of all the Psalms and a biographical index of the 112 composers.

The original discs (with their original catalogue numbers) are still available separately.
