On this disc the distinguished German clarinettist Sabine Meyer is heard in the four concertante works which Weber wrote for Heinrich Joseph Bärmann (1784-1847), the greatest German clarinettist of his day. The two popular concertos and the engaging Concertino were all written in 1811, while the substantial clarinet quintet, heard here with the string quartet expanded to a string orchestra, was completed in 1815.
