'Voice, orchestra and sound are all gorgeous; this is well worth having, and I think you will play it often, as I have already. I could never tire of a voice as beautiful as this.' (American Record Guide)

Felicity Lott is a legendary Richard Strauss interpreter, and this reissue includes her sublime recording of Four Last Songs.

This enterprising programme includes some of Strauss's most famous songs, as well as rarer items, including the Moonlight Music and Closing Scene from Capriccio.

Neeme Järvi's Strauss recordings have been universally praised both for their subtlety and their vitality, qualities vividly brought out in vintage Chandos Sound.

'She [Felicity Lott] never loses sight of what the words are about; her vocalism is consistently poised and centered; and its no wonder that the wealth of commitment and knowledge shes brought to Strauss music over the years has made her a prime exponent of this repertoire.'
