Multi-channel Super Audio CD: SACD stereo / SACD Surround Sound. ONLY PLAYABLE ON SACD PLAYERS!

"Satch is an old hand at guitar music, and now the highly regarded player has completed his eighth full-length studio recording, appropriately titled 'Strange Beautiful Music'.

In contrast to his previous release, 'Engines Of Creation', which was built around computerised sounds, 'SBM' has a genuine live rock feel to it. Bassist Matt Bissonette (previously of David Lee Roth band) and drummer Jeff Campitelli (longtime friend and collaborator) have contributed substantially to the proceedings and Joe is playing better than ever. Robert Fripp even appears on a most unlikely track - the old instrumental standard "Sleep Walk".

'Strange Beautiful Music' revisits the styles Joe has already covered in guitar rock and takes them a little further into the future."
GEOFF

Joe Satriani has enjoyed a long and distinguished career since he first picked up a guitar at age 14.

Since the late eighties, the self-taught virtuoso, has been winning over fans and musicians alike with his groundbreaking style and legendary sounds.

He has toured extensively on his own, as well with Mick Jagger, Deep Purple, and the hugely successful G3 tours and albums with fellow guitar legends Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

He has also instructed such famous pupils as Metallica's Kirk Hammett, Counting Crow's David Bryson, and jazz fusionist Charlie Hunter.

However, Joe's strength as a player can be seen in his numerous solo recordings, the latest being "Strange Beautiful Music".

His eighth full-length studio recording, "Strange Beautiful Music" is one of the most elaborate recordings Satriani has done to date. The intricacies and the layering of the guitars and bass bring Satriani's famous riff-saturated jams to soaring heights.

With this album, Satriani merges alternate styles, exploring his emotional side in such tracks as "Chords of Life" and "You Saved My Life", however showing that he has not forgotten how to rock on "Seven String" and "Sleep Walk".

The album also includes appearances by bassist Matt Bissonette, drummer Jeff Campitelli and fellow legend Robert Fripp.

"Strange Beautiful Music" is the latest in a string of many accomplishments and marks yet another turning point in the enduring career that Satriani has been blessed with.
