Dvořák has written extensively for voices. Somehow we hardly ever hear any part of this repertoire. This 3 CD set offers the complete music for two and more voices including the choral works by this composer. Most duets are accompanied on the piano. They are rather a mixed bag with a large number of Moravian songs and some Russian and Irish ones.

Very interesting is Domov muj for soprano and tenor which is an adaptation of the Largo of his ninth symphony.

The choruses are both mixed or just for male or female voices. The attractive, modest Nature's Realm (op. 63) is an example of Dvořák's skilful and economic writing for a cappella choir.

Sung in Czech. All texts and translations are provided in the booklet.

New recordings of excellent performances by the multiple prize winning Prague singers under Stanislav Mistr. Soloists are Martina Kritznerová, soprano; Šárka Mistrová, mezzo; Daniela Demuthová, alto; and Michal Krůšek, bass. The pianist are Jaroslov Šaroun and Soňa Böhmová.
