During her 20 year association with Philips Viktoria Mullova recorded a wide range of repertory that ranges from Bach to Bartók and this repertory embraces sonatas and chamber works as well as important concertos.

Viktoria Mullova was first signed to Philips in the early 1980s after she left Russia, where her teachers included Leonid Kogan. Her success in two of the important violin competitions - the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki in 1981 and winning the Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1982 set her on course for an international career that has resulted in appearances with the greatest orchestras and conductors in the world.

Viktoria Mullova's first disc for Philips was of the Sibelius and Tchaikovsky Concertos with Seiji Ozawa and the Boston Symphony Orchestra - a recording that was widely acclaimed at the time of release and which remains available as part of the 'Philips 50' collection of recordings.
