The number of chamber works by Beethoven written mostly - if not exclusively - for wind instruments is small enough to give the programme of this CD a special interest: the popular Septet for wind and strings of 1799 - now a classic of the repertoire - is joined by an Octet for wind alone and the little Rondino of 1793, two scores belonging to the composer's youthful period.
