Imogen Cooper was born in London and then studied in Paris and Vienna. She is now established as an international pianist, recent performances including the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw, Dresden Staatskapelle and Philharmonia Orchestras.
In the 2006/7 season Imogen Cooper's performances include a return visit to the Boston Symphony Orchestra for four concerts with Sir Colin Davis, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra/Sinaisky and performances with the Britten Sinfonia play/directing Beethoven. Following on from the success of her debut recitals in San Francisco and at Carnegie Hall in New York in May 2006, this season she will make her solo recital debut in the Orchestra Hall in Chicago.
Imogen Cooper works regularly as a Lieder recitalist with Wolfgang Holzmair and also in duo with the cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton.
