Malcolm Sargent conducting the National Symphony Orchestra accompanies Haendel in a performance of Mendelssohn's Concerto in E minor for Violin and Orchestra, while in contrast Stravinsky's La Baiser de la Fée

: Divertimento for Violin and Piano (arranged by violinist Samuel Dushkin and based on Stravinsky's ballet music 'The Fairy's Kiss') shows off Haendel in an intimate chamber setting. Among the other 1940s Decca recordings on this disc are Szymanowski's Tarantella and Albéniz's Malagueña - the latter in an arrangement by Kreisler.
