Don Giovanni is one of the three great operas that Mozart wrote to a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte: the first being The Marriage of Figaro and the third Così fan tutte. It was first performed on 29 October, 1787, at the National Theatre in Prague. It has since become one of the most popular operas in the repertoire.

With it's fine cast and with Muti at the helm this Don Giovanni is one to be reckoned with and as an EMI Triples release is a fine bargain.
