"In sum, a wholly delightful disc that reawakened my appetite for music I thought I heard once or twice too often."
- The Gramophone Editor's Choice May 2008
"Visceral Excitement is not the whole story. The playing also has poise, delicacy, grace. I've never heard a performance that made me smile as much as this. The playing has a lovely freshness and ease, with a crucial sense of enjoyment in the jaunty instrumental repartee. In sum, a wholly delightful disc that reawakened my appetite for music I thought I heard once or twice too often."

"Excellent"

"Freiburg Baroque's plush, well-nourished sound and vivid details are delightful."
- The Independent on Sunday
Mozart's final instrumental work, the famous Clarinet Concerto, comes just a few months after the last piano concerto. In both cases, the performers have gone back to the original manuscripts to unearth the detailed traces of the composer's own performing practice. If his markings are followed precisely, it is possible to rediscover a fascinating variety of sonic perspectives.
