Russian born Rustem Gabdullin is possibly the most famous double bassist performing at this time. Born and educated in Moscow his career has taken him around the world, performing in concerts with all the world's leading orchestras. He features regularly in chamber concerts and in 1995 was awarded the honour of the "People's Artist of Russia."
