Giuseppe Sinopoli remains, twenty years after his death an enigmatic figure. In 1978, a performance of Verdi's Aida spring-boarded his mainstream operatic career. Three decades after his untimely death, and in what would have been his 75th year, DG celebrates the Italian conductor and polymath with a reissue of his acclaimed 1983 recording of the same composer's Babylonian epic, Nabucco. The cast includes Ghena Dimitrova, Piero Cappuccilli and the chorus of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
