"In the Song of the Fairy-Tale Princess, on feels that Szymanowski must have known Stravinsky's Le Rossignal. On Naxos, both the Song of the Infatuated Muezzin and the Love Songs of Hafiz are sung by a tenor (Ryszard Minkiewicz) with impressive insight, but the 1989 recording is resonant and does not flatter him. Jadwiga Gadulanka is hardly less impressive in the extraordinary Songs of the fairy-tale princess and Barbara Zagórzanka sings the famous Chant de Roxane beautifully, and both she and Anna Malewicz-Madej in the Kasprowicz songs are very well balanced."
