This quote characterises the unique musicianship of Grubert, who in Schumann's music delves deeper layers of characters and emotions then there is on the surface of the mere notes and glittering pianism. Grubert finds poetry in every phrase, no details escapes his imagination and his deep and penetrating touch reveals a world of unheard, magical sounds. Grubert, born in 1951, was taught by the famous Prof. Gutman, and was a laureate of the Tchaikovsky Competition. He played with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra de la Suisse Romande under such conductors like Evgeny Svetlanov, Paavo Berglund, Valery Gergiev and Stanislav Skrowaczewski.

"For all his virtuosity, Grubert interprets music more as a philosopher and a thinker." (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung).
