Dutch soprano Elly Ameling is one of the most celebrated singers of her generation. In her career spanning more than 40 years she sang in the most important opera houses of the world and collaborated with the greatest conductors. She won prestigious prizes like the Grand Prix du Disque and the Deutsche Schallplattenpreis. Her unique voice of rare purity and beauty has won her fans all over the world.

This release presents a Schubert lied recital recorded live at the Tanglewood Festival in 1987. Ameling shows her great communicative powers and her deep understanding of the text in this fine selection of celebrated Schubert songs, a lifelong specialty of hers.
