The musical France of the Belle Époque and interwar period found refuge in the exhilaration of rhythm; but, in that 'dance age', it was only one short step from celebrations to nostalgic reverie. Anne Queffélec invites us to a crepuscular ball where dance, in its contrasted forms, becomes the medium for her meditations.
