European import. Lush and laid-back leaders of the quiet, acoustic revolution

Eric Glambek Boe and Erlend Oye, met at age 11 in Bergen, Norway. Today both 24 year old Norwegians, signed to the French label Source Records, are making beautifully thought-provoking songs which transport you off to picturesque icy lands.

'The idea for our name, Kings Of Convenience is that its much easier getting together to make music, just the two of us. You know what musicians are like, it's just not convenient to get a whole band together at the same time. One of the ideas behind the band was to make music of substance that would survive if all the plugs were pulled' states Oye.

Eric and Erlend stayed in Liverpool recording their debut album with Ken Nelson, whose most recent production credits include Badly Drawn Boy and Coldplay. They have also enlisted the talents of legendary orchestral arranger David Whittaker (Air, Serge Gainsbourg, early Rolling Stones) on three of their tracks.

The lush and laid back style of 'Quiet is the New Loud' has gained Kings of Convenience great critical acclaim. They are undeniably fresh and unique leaders of the quiet, acoustic revolution.
