his is a double disc U.K. imported re-issue of the 1994 compilation 'The Lansdowne Tapes'. The set now has 33 tracks (expanded from 14), including many alternate versions and rarities.

'The Lansdowne Tapes' is a collection of early recordings that include tracks from the days when Uriah Heep were called Spice. Originally intended for an album release, these songs were shelved when Ken Hensley joined the band. By 1970 spice had become Uriah Heep and the rest of the tracks on this double CD come from the session recordings of Heep's first three albums in 1970-1971, many of which are unreleased.
