89 / 93: An Anthology

Uncle Tupelo was born when Jay Farrar, Jeff Tweedy and Mike Heidorn started their mutual quest to blend their punk rock roots and their increasing fascination with the traditional songs and sounds of American roots music. With their live shows becoming the stuff of local legend, they toured the US and abroad, opening for the likes of Teenage Fanclub, The Replacements and The Jayhawks.

Three stellar, seminal records and countless miles and shows later, Uncle Tupelo released 'Anodyne'. By early 1994, however, Uncle Tupelo was over and Farrar was off to form Son Volt with original UT drummer Heidorn, while Tweedy took the remaining members of UT to form Wilco. With the exception of 'Anodyne', the UT catalog has been out of print since Farrar and Tweedy's successful bid to retrieve the rights to those recordings from Rockville. Until now.

'Uncle Tupelo 89/93: An Anthology' features songs from all of their Rockville UT albums - 'No Depression', 'Still Feel Gone' and 'March 16-20, 1992' - with stunningly re-mastered sound and a bonus track.

The full color booklet contains many rare and unpublished photos, album and singles artwork, original show flyers and other archival memorabilia from the band's personal vaults, plus interviews with Jay Farrar, Jeff Tweedy, Mike Heidorn and many other members of the UT family.
