Top-knotch country singer/songwriter returns. U.S. #1 album

Top-knotch country singer/songwriter returns with a U.S. #1 album!

TOBY KEITH, the reigning Country Music Association`s Male Vocalist of the Year, releases his new DreamWorks Records album UNLEASHED.

Bolstered by the success of the #1 hit single Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American), Keith`s newest album UNLEASHED is sure to make an auspicious debut.

Produced by Keith and James Stroud, the album features 12 new tracks-all of which were self-penned.
"I haven`t released an album in my career that I wrote or co-wrote entirely by myself. You never seem to have enough time with deadlines to deliver enough quality written songs," explains Keith. "But I did write this entire project because I wanted to show everyone that the more successful you become, the harder you have to work. I am always careful when comparing my latest to any of my previous albums but this time I feel like this is the album I always wanted to record... So run baby run!"

The single Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) was written in the memory of his late father, who served in the military, expressed a strong message about how he feels Americans should be proud to stand up for their country. The song has come to national attention over the fact that his opening spot on the ABC Fourth of July television special was re-called after Peter Jennings objected to its lyrical content. USA TODAY broke the news in a major entertainment cover story, which inspired a media frenzy, spurring coverage in TIME MAGZINE, PEOPLE, THE WASHINGTON POST and CNN`S WOLF BLITZER, to name a few.

Keith first drew attention with his song Should`ve Been A Cowboy in 1993 and since that time he has accumulated 15 #1 singles in his career (11 #1`s as songwriter). His seamless weave of old-school country, pop and southern cool has struck a chord with all audiences. His last album PULL MY CHAIN, is approaching double platinum, adding to his many previous Platinum & Gold albums.

"Fueled by his controversial, patriotic hit Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American), Keith`s album sold 338,000 copies its first week," Edna Gundersen, USA TODAY, reports. "Volume 10 of Now That`s What I Call Music! enters the Billboard album chart at No. 2 with sales of 288,000 copies, well behind the No. 1 debut of Toby Keith`s Unleashed."
