Out There

Rick vowed to release a "full-on prog album" in 2003 - and he wasn't kidding! Now the album is available with three bonus tracks - as a specially priced American imported CD.

"Rick Wakeman is undoubtedly the greatest keyboard master to ever tread the progressive rock stage and here he is, returning to his roots to deliver one of his best albums of his career. From the epic 13 minute title track, through to the finale of "The Cathedral of the Sky", this is truly prog-tastic stuff!

Rick's keyboard playing is outstanding and he is backed by a very talented band of young musicians, along with stalwart drummer, Tony Fernandez, plus full choir. The music is symphonic, driving rock, played by all with real passion and vigour. Ant Glynne's guitar work is impressive and the singer, Damian Wilson does a fine job of interpreting Rick's deep lyrics into powerful vocals. (Wilson was recruited from son, Adam Wakeman's band, Geronimo Road and he has improved dramatically).

The star, of course, is the caped wonder himself, Mr Wakeman who plays the entire gamut of his keyboards in classic style. From piano to synths and church organ, Rick is sounding and playing at his best!
