The content of this release, the group's 6th studio album, confidently alternates between beautiful, soul inflected songs and spiritually charged instrumental pieces.

Special mention should be made of Jules Broussard's fantastic contributions on both tenor and soprano saxophone. His work on cuts such as "Aspirations" and "Here and Now" is awe-inspiring.
Other notable players present on "Borboletta" include long-time drummer Michael Shrieve, organist Tom Coster (who would play a key role in the future of the band), plus Leon Patillo, who contributes wonderful vocals and keyboard passages. Even hallowed fusion bassist, Stanley Clarke makes an appearance on a number of songs, namely the aforementioned "Aspirations" & "Here and Now", "Flor de Canela", and "Promise of a Fisherman".
"Borboletta" is a somewhat forgotten album, but still stands tall today alongside Santana's best works."
