Think hypnotic beats, electronic meanderings and walls of chiming guitars and bass, all mixed up in emotive musical highs and lows.

With the Somersault soundtrack, Decoder Ring have created a mix of ambient soundscapes delivered alongside entrancing rhythms that combine to envelope and entrance the listener.

A visually haunting story of sex, guilt, love, relationships and the confusion these forces can cause, the movie 'Somersault' is based around a young girl's journey of self-discovery, set in the striking alpine landscape of Jindabyne, southern NSW, in winter. 'Somersault' earned the much coveted 'Official Selection' and received a standing ovation when it screened at this 2004 Cannes Film Festival.

The visual elements in the film and the languid pacing marry beautifully with the luscious sounds of Decoder Ring's delicate, ethereal score. The result is wonderfully moving, honest and dreamy. Working the film into an album complete, Decoder Ring have created a release that works both as a companion to the film and as a stand-alone album.
