Nicole Vergel de Dios aka Niko is a Brooklyn, NY based singer signed to Manchester, UK's Grand Central records and originally hails from Seattle to Japanese and Spanish heritage. This melting pot of cultural influences and varied stimulus - along with her own experiences at NYC's New School University jazz school, working at the Knitting Factory Club and performing in NYC's jazz clubs - has coloured her musical upbringing and resulted in a wonderful collection of fantastic songs for her debut album.

'Life On Earth' is Niko's musical anthology, where she flirts with '80s electro, soulful hip hop and beats, classic jazz and pop. 'Life On Earth' displays a unique depth of musicality with Niko's vocal delivery and performance, as well as the album itself, is classy, mature and totally independent of fashion.

Niko has achieved a new twist on her jazz sensibilities by working with her "dream team" of producers: Aim (who produces half the album), Mr Scruff and Mark Rae (Rae and Christian). The influence of these noted beatmakers and producers cannot be denied, but it is Niko's charming and frankly outstanding vocals which pull the album together into one cohesive whole.
