From West London musical legends Joey and Norman Jay comes Good Times 4, the essential Good Times collection with the very best, old and new, in rare groove, funk, soul, house, hip hop and reggae.

Norman Jay is arguably one of the finest and most respected DJs in the world today, whose talents and many years of dedicated service to his profession saw him appointed a MBE in 2002, awarded on merit for DJing and services to music. A fitting tribute in recognition of his many outstanding achievements and invaluable contributions in a career spanning well over two decades.

An avid record collector and music enthusiast as a child, Norman found himself in NYC and DJing infamous venues such as the legendary Paradise Garage in its heyday - forging lasting friendships with the likes of the late Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles and David Morales, Tony Humphries and Louis Vega from Masters At Work. In turn he introduced many of these DJs to the UK scene, establishing a lasting link to the US house scene.

He set up the pirate KissFM station with Gordon Mac, recruiting Jonathan More and Matt Black (Coldcut), Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Dr Bob Jones, Danny Rampling, Giles Peterson and Trevor Nelson, not to mention Judge Jules, with whom Norman staged the first and largest warehouse parties staged in London at the time - preceding the acid house explosion by three years - playing a music who's genre he coined with his own Kiss radio show 'The Original Rare Groove Show'.

Norman launched the label Talkin Loud, home to Galliano and Incognito. He DJs private parties for the likes of Mick Jagger, Robert De Niro, Michael Caine, Will Smith and Prince; fashion shows for Vivienne Westwood, Gaultier and Tommy Hilfiger; and played the wedding of France and Arsenal star striker Thierry Henry.

There's no argument Norman Jay is an absolute living legend and incredible contributor the history of modern music. So it com as no surprise the man knows his way around a record box, selecting the likes of James Brown, Shapeshifters, The Nextmen, The Impressions, Aswad, Billy Paul, James Mason, Lee Dorsey, Bomb The Bass, First Class… the list goes on!
