More magical violin sounds from the very popular virtuoso, Andre Rieu, featuring hits from the past and present, world-famous waltzes, marches, melodies from the world of opera, operetta and musicals.
Kerkrade, Parkstad 2004. Around 18,000 people are streaming into the stadium with the same thought: to enjoy a gala evening with Andre and his orchestra.
For a good four hours that evening, Andre Rieu and his orchestra put on a dizzying display unequalled anywhere: from the beginning to the end it's just one big party!
In celebration of that unique, Andre has brought together all the pieces of music which best communicate the atmosphere of that concert. So, whether you were there or not, everyone now has the opportunity to experience that atmosphere.
On the CD 'The Flying Dutchman' you will find hits from the past and present, world-famous waltzes, marches, melodies from the world of opera, operetta and musicals, and you can sing along piece by piece (although you may not be able to hit the high 'G' together with our soprano Carla, but that's why it's so special!) It's one big party, and like all the best parties, it allows room for a little melancholy.
