Lotus may not be a familiar face to everyone but this Wellington-based artist's voice will certainly set bells ringing. Over the past five years she has recorded with many of Aotearoa's finest musicians and producers, making great music and becoming an underground hit with music lovers the world over. 'Hybrid Flower' is her captivating debut album.
Lotus began her recording career in 1999, when she recorded vocals for the track "Where Are You?" by The Nomad. This track received considerable b-Net radio play and caused quite a stir for Lotus' first vocal efforts.
Since then she has appeared on the internationally recognized compilation series 'Cafe Del Mar' (with Rhian Sheehan), many Loop compilations, including 'Loop Select 003', and other standout releases including Rhombus' 'Bass Player', Rhian Sheehan's 'Paradigm Shift', Twinset's 'Mystical Soul' and of course, The Nomad's 'Second Selection' and 'Step4th'.
