Resist Records are delighted to present the second volume in the groundbreaking 'Fear and Loathing' series, from longtime techno legend Luke Slater, although branding Slater with the 'techno' tag is no longer appropriate.

On 'Fear and Loathing II', Slater tries and succeeds in distancing himself from that tag by exploring a wide range of electronic music across various micro-genres, showing the diversity of his considerable DJing talents.

Disc one, the more 'trippy' disc, sees Slater mixing some upfront tracks with some essential tracks from the past. The blend here weaves ambient soundscapes from Planetary Assault System and Bola with the glitchy-house of Isolee, or groovy house of Agoria, with Carl Craig's mix of Throbbing Gristle's 'Hot On The Heels Of Love'.

Disc two represents more of what you would expect to hear from Slater: a dancefloor-based mix taking in all that's hot in the world of electro and techno, with tracks from The Advent, Nitzer Ebb and Alter Ego's underground smash 'Rocker'.

With the first volume selling over 30,000 copies worldwide, volume 2 is a keenly awaited exploration of the diversity now apparent in the 'techno' genre, thanks to the mastery of a DJ at the top of his game. Thank you, Mr Slater.
