'Miami: Global Underground #027' is the first Global Underground album proper for Howells, who has already released a 'Nu Breed' and a '24/7'' mix for the label. Here his skills for combining cutting edge grooves with crowd pleasing dynamics are illustrated perfectly.
This is after all a live mix: CD2 is what Danny played in the main room at Miami's Space Bar in the early hours of Sunday morning and CD1 is what he played out on the Terrace when the sun had come up and spirits were once more on the rise.
CD1 is not so much a warm-up as the soundtrack to a party that really gets going at 8am: a deliciously groovy blend of oddball disco, spacey grooves and toasty deep house, featuring the likes of Mimosa, Bent, Silicone Soul, Ame and more.
CD2 is the wilder mix ~ a ride through crunching electro and quivering bass throbs, flashed by silvery beams of techno, it features the likes of Sid Le Rock, Mateo Murphy, Tiefschwarz and the Basement Jaxx remix of Throbbing Gristle.
