In the past few years we've seen most emcees from around the world re-adopting and reclaiming their own accents, most prominently in the UK and Europe. When Dark Tower released their 'Canterbury Drafts' album back in 2001, their blatant Kiwi accent and colloquialisms confused the local scene and frustrated the duos attempts to market their music. It was a dead-end which spiraled into an angry bunch of songs - but for the poet, the pen becomes the outlet for emotion. 'The Dark World' is the result.
The album covers topics others won't touch, making Dark Tower NZ's most politically aware hip hop outfit. Their pure, socially conscious sound yields a musical landscape which treats you to a world of fresh, inspirational and dedicated original hip hop.
