Who is Lorenzo Buhne? Well, he's Italian. He's traditional. He's rock. He's sampled. He's pop. He's a balladeer. He's a top rate producer, composer, and performer - and he lives in Wellington. No matter where he plays or where he travels, Lorenzo takes his Italian roots with him.

Lorenzo now releases 'Sotto Sopra', to coincide with the exhibit "Qui Tutto Bene; the Italians in New Zealand" at Te Papa. 'Sotto Sopra' is a modern album, performed in Italian, which incorporates pop, rock, ballads, sampled beats, as well as mandolins, strings, and primitive Mediterranean instruments.

Coined by Billboard Magazine as "the Clown Prince of Punk," Lorenzo made a name for himself in the U.S. and Europe playing with legendary old school punk bands Fear and The Dickies. He's shared bills with acts such as Jane's Addiction, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Green Day, The Police, Devo, Tiny Tim and many more.
