This is a wild ride and a celebration of Sonicanimation's outrageous and fun eleven-year career!
From humble beginnings selling 1500 copies of their self-funded 1st single 'Time Is An Illusion', Australian audiences have come to love and admire the satirical, quirky, anti-dance music sentiments of electronica duo Sonicanimation.
Now one of Aus' most recognizable dance/crossover acts, Sonicanimation was formed in '94 by Rupert Keiller and Adrian Cartwright with former member Steve Bertshick. Over the years they've worked with other collaborators, including Mark Saul and most recently NZers Jon Toogood [Shihad] and Richard Falkner [Cortina].
Their career spanned four albums, three EPs and a host of groundbreaking singles. Their passion for music and strong opinions of the industry fuelled by world-class talent have gained them a cult following in Aus and earned them support slots with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Underworld, Basement Jaxx and The Chemical Brothers.
Now after 11yrs they're pursuing new, separate paths and leave us with a double disc album to remember them by…
Disc one features 16 of their singles, unmixed - a song from every album and EP they've released from '94, including their first ever white label ['Time Is An Illusion'] and 'Theophilus Thistler', 'I'm A DJ', 'Love Lies Bleeding' and more.
Disc two is a mixed disc featuring Sonicanimation tracks, some remixed and held together by Phil K and Nubreed, Infusion, German techno/trance legend Mijk van Dijk, the UK's Sharp Boys ~ they all joined the final party.
