Slam is Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle. Synonymous with Glasgow's underground club scene and their own sound searching label Soma, the duo have garnered a reputation as international DJs, accomplished artists and respected collaborators - and in 2005 held down their 9th annual 15,000 capacity Slam Tent at massive UK fest T in the Park!

'Nightdrive' is a wicked double disc mixed compilation released on London-based Resist [ex-React], which takes in all that is currently hot in the world of deep, glitchy, minimal electronic house and techno, with a distinctly and intentionally pan-European flavour. This is sparse yet soulful sound is at its best.

Some of the hottest names of the scene come together, including Soma's Glaswegian wunderkind Alex Smoke, Swiss minimal maestro Luciano, bright new Berlin hope Guido Schneider, Canadian genius Mathew Jonson, Parisian freaks Blackstrobe and a liberal spread of Slam's own tracks - particularly from their under-rated 'Year Zero' album.

Other artists include Carl Craig, John Dahlback, Vector Lovers, Adam Beyer, Nathan Fake, D'Void and Phil Kieran.

A summer mix of deep, glitchy, minimal house sounds taking a different direction from tough techno. Wicked!
