Pretty Girls Make Graves are one of the most exciting new groups to have emerged from the new Seattle and their material to date has charted their progress - the universally acclaimed 'The New Romance' pushed them into places their debut 'Good Health' could only have dreamt of - so it's an exciting thing indeed to hear 'Elan Vital' pushing their sound even further!

'Elan Vital' is Pretty Girls' third album - and first since replacing guitarist Nathan Thelen with keyboardist Leona Marrs - and is a strikingly modern record which doesn't appear to be influenced by anything other than their own beautiful minds. This is by far their most ambitious, multifarious and scorching work to date. 'Elan Vital' provides the band with a bigger, bolder canvas with which to weave their magic. 'Pyrite Pedestal', 'The Number' and lead single 'Parade' rank among their finest songs.

Their new material, roadtested after gigs around the globe with Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand and Death Cab For Cutie, shows a blindingly original American band who are improving with each successive album. And this is the sound of now!
