DelaDap come from the Czech Repuplic, Slovakia and Hungar - a creativity platform for Gypsy rooted, Central-European world sound.
Welcome to the sound of Urban Gypsies…
The musicians and members of !DelaDap come from the Czech Repuplic, Slovakia and Hungary, most of them live in Vienna and constantly commute between these countries. They talk to each other in 5 different languages and thereby communicate about the one language they all got in common, their music.
It started around four years ago as a project idea in the studio of the Prague born producer Stani Vana, then developed first into a trio and later into a seven member live ensemble. By now !DelaDap turns more and more into a creativity platform for Gypsy rooted, Central-European world sound.
In this second album of staying true to the motto 'dela dap' (Romanese for give me the beat) several outstanding musicians from middle and eastern Europe have taken part in the further developement of the very special mixture of the !DelaDap sound: For the song 'Dela Paji' (Romanese for give me water) the Russian 'gypsy music queen' Leonsia Erdenko lent her outstanding voice to !DelaDap which gives the melodic tune a very unique touch with all the deepness of the Russian Gypsy Soul. Also the brillant accordionist Martin Lubenov from Bulgaria contributed some excellent passages as did the Czech rooted producer and saxophonist Philip Noha (NOHA, Frank Popp Ensemble) from Collogne. Another very unique mixture results from the performances of singer Kiki Sauer and other musicians of the Berlin group 7 Hippies.
